GSA Advance
The Global Sepsis Alliance is dedicated to maintaining a multidisciplinary and collaborative team approach within the organization, for the advancement of its vision: A World Free of Sepsis.
The mission of the GSA Fellowship is to develop the next generation of GSA leaders, who will help drive the global sepsis agenda, by influencing policy, research, education, and advocacy.
The goals of the GSA Fellowship are:
To broaden the multidisciplinary & multi-regional involvement within GSA
To engage Fellows in existing programs & initiatives within GSA and among its Regional Sepsis Alliances (RSAs)
To create learning opportunities for Fellows with sepsis experts from around the globe
To nurture the potential for regional, national, and international impact by Fellows
Available Platforms
The GSA Advance Program contains multiple platforms, such as:
Junior Faculty & Trainee Platform - applications currently closed
Nursing Platform - applications currently closed
Pediatrics Platform - applications currently closed
More platforms are planned for 2022 and beyond.
Applicants are encouraged to apply for membership within these platforms (during specified application submission periods), at which time they can also indicate any interest in becoming a Representative within existing GSA Committees. Current GSA Committees include the following:
Quality Improvement Committee (QIC)
World Sepsis Congress (WSCC)
World Sepsis Day Committee (WSDC)
Resourcing Committee (RC) – acquires and maintains financial support for GSA activities
Communications Committee (CC)

GSA Advance Program membership does not have any term limits
Time Commitment
GSA Advance Program: The GSA Advance Program will host 1 virtual meeting annually (Zoom) plus additional involvement in communications and updates via Slack.
Platforms: Each GSA Advance Program Platform will host 2 virtual meetings per year (Zoom) plus additional involvement in communications and updates via Slack.
Committee Representatives: Representatives are expected to attend at least 50% of their specific Committee meetings per year. Committees convene on average 2-4 times per year, however, this number can increase depending on particular activities, such as WSD and WSC planning, for example.
Representative Position Description
This position has a 3-year term. It can be requested through the GSA Advance Program application and requires an interview process. A Representative within a GSA Committee can attend meetings for their chosen Committee. After completing a 3-year term, Representatives can apply to switch Committees, to remain on their Committee, or opt to remain only in general membership of their Platform.
